The Friendship Circle

The Friendship Circle of Cary/Raleigh serves individuals with special needs of all ages by facilitating friendship matches with teens in our community and providing a full host of physical, cognitive, sensory, social, and developmental programs—all with the goal of reversing stereotypes, changing mindsets, and empowering those with challenges

Who We Effect

  • Children with special needs bloom and gain the confidence they need to make the most of their abilities and talents.
  • Teenage volunteers learn the priceless value of giving, the curative power of friendship, and the vital importance of integrating children with special needs into the community.
  • Parents and siblings receive much-needed needed respite and support from Friendship Circle programs and the Friendship Circle family.
  • The fact is, the Friendship Circle links volunteers, children, parents, staff, and supporters in a seamless circle of friendship that makes miracles happen every day.

What’s New

Our Philosophy

The underlying philosophy of the Friendship Circle is that every child is an entire world worthy of love, laughter, nurturing and connection. A child with special needs can feel the pain of loneliness and the euphoria of friendship like any other child. The real beauty of the Friendship Circle is that it has so many winners: The special-needs children, their families, the teenage volunteers, the staff members and the benevolent supporters. All are part of a seamless circle of giving and sharing. The Friendship Circle is a project of Chabad of Cary.
